Bedawi Cafe sits comfortably on a quiet Brooklyn street, offering a focused taste of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors in a setting that blends casual dining with the feel of a close-knit neighborhood spot. Though its footprint inside is modest, much of the experience unfolds outdoors in a small, well-kept garden complete with water fountains—a detail that draws locals looking for a relaxed meal with a little breathing room away from the city’s pace.

The menu here leans into approachable classics like falafel, fresh homemade pita, and an array of salads, alongside more distinctive items such as the Lahmbajin Pizza topped with ground lamb and the merguez sausage platters. Portions encourage sharing, with a handful of cold mezzes and warm dishes that make it easy to assemble a mix-and-match spread. Whether you’re dropping in for a falafel sandwich on a quick lunch break or lingering over a platter of assorted salads and homemade dips, the food offers consistently fresh, well-prepared flavors rooted in traditional recipes.

Bedawi naturally attracts groups of friends, families, and anyone seeking a calm spot to enjoy good food outside of the typical busy Brooklyn eateries. It’s especially inviting in the warmer months when the garden comes alive, providing a low-key backdrop for evenings that might stretch into casual celebrations or quiet dinners. The staff’s friendly, personable approach adds to that feeling of eating at a friend’s place rather than at a typical restaurant, inviting conversation and lingering.

This is a place for those who appreciate honest, straightforward Middle Eastern cuisine without the rush, and for parents who want a peaceful spot where their kids can enjoy discovering new tastes amidst a soothing outdoor ambiance. Given its size, visiting outside of peak weekend times can help secure a table in the garden, which is where Bedawi truly opens up and lets its character shine through.

Enjoyed a quick bite. Was invited to sit and chat with a guest who.loved hot homemade peppers sauce. As we chatter her lamb sharia arrived. She is a regular for this dish. I ordered the falafel sandwich..minus tomatoes. A third guest was ordering...he had wine...a bread basket and hummus... We all ate heartily. The cover back garden was clean and the water fou tains added ambiance. I love spicy food that is well seaaoned...would have love to have more spices and a bit of hot pepper in my falafel. A complimentary glass of mint tea was presented as I chatted with the other guest who invited.me to sit and dine ...when I was just thinking about a take.out.. We chatted about world travels. I was.in the area to visit a new vintage boutique..GIRLS.NEXT DOOR. While I wander around and found bedawi Cafe... Week day happy hour specials. Owner stated meats are grilled. Thus falafel is not cooked in the same.oils as fish and protein. Good vegan and vegetarian options. Handicapped accessible except.for steps.to back yard.. Seating on sidewalk.. Good place.for a quick vegan bite. And takeout is available.

Excellent pita breads made in-house, we ordered five assorted cold appetizers hummus, beets, potato, chick peas & spinach and bulgar & lentils, Lahmbajin Pizza and Mixed Medley platter. All were super fresh, beautifully prepared and presented. Felt like we were eating at a treasured relative’s home.

I absolutely love the place and have been many, many times. I had lamb, falafel, tabule, and pizza (not all at the same time). Everything was always good and fresh. The place is small but has a beautiful backyard that is cozy.

Had the loveliest evening in the garden at Bedawi this week. Have always loved their food, but dined there for the first time and wished we’d done so sooner! Our 3 year old loved the space (the fountains!) and the chicken. The owner was so kind - when he heard we were celebrating something he surprised us with baklava.

Delicious food, quick and friendly service, adorable & decorative quaint spot near prospect park! We had a really tasty fresh hummus and pita, their bedawi salad and falafel wrap. Great vegan/vegetarian options! They also have a cute backyard patio. Would come back for sure!!

We asked Bedawi to cater a lunch after church. This will not be the last time! The food was delicious, fresh, and plentiful. The price was more than reasonable and the service was spot on. we have a variety of dietary needs and there was something for everyone. Appreciated the delivery option so that we could move directly from church into our lunch meeting. Thanks so much!
